Android is a highly customizable mobile operating system. Do you know how to customize Android hardware buttons work? We can use a module called Xposed to change the working of hardware buttons on Android.
Adding Xposed module with Xposed allows you to change the work of your phone's power button, volume button, home button, etc. So let's see how to change the work of hardware buttons on Android smartphones.

First, you need an Android with root permissions, because the Xposed installer can only be installed on Android with root permissions. After rooting the Android device, you must install the Xposed installer on Android and the Xposed framework on your Android. After that, the only thing you need is the Xposed module Xposed Additions, which will allow you to remap the work of the hardware buttons. Install the application now and launch it on your Android, you just need to provide superuser access to the application to continue. Finally in the application, you can click on the option Buttons (Remap Settings).

You will see all the relevant options that buttons can perform, and you can use this application to modify how all of them work. You can also add new keys and new conditions that will work after you set them.
The second method is to use the button remapper. This way, you don't need to have a rooted Android smartphone. The button remapper allows custom actions to be set on the hardware, including capacitive (not software) buttons for Android devices.
First, you need to download the Buttons Remapper app from the Google Play Store. After opening the application you need to authorize, after granting permissions, you can see its home screen. Here, you just need to click the "+" button, then select "short and long press", select the hardware button and operation, and you have remapped the Android hardware button.
The third method is to use the button mapper. With the "button mapper", you can easily map custom actions to volume buttons, home buttons, back and recently used application keys. Remap your buttons to launch any application, shortcut or custom action. Assign custom actions to the single-click, double-click, and long-press of the phone's hardware buttons.
